Google Ads and Meta Ads for sexual health clinics in Dubai

Sexual health advertising sits close to platform limits. This guide covers what tends to work on Google and Meta for STI testing and sexual health clinics in Dubai, what is restricted, and how to structure campaigns, landing pages and tracking without exposing patient data.

Can sexual health clinics in Dubai run Google Ads and Meta Ads?

Yes, in most cases, but within limits. Google and Meta restrict ads for some health topics; follow their current policies. Use clinical, non-explicit wording, 18+ age targeting where available and no health-based remarketing. Healthcare advertising in Dubai is regulated by DHA; check the current guidelines before launch.

What works

Search campaigns on clear intent
People searching “STI test Dubai” or “sexual health clinic near me” already know what they need. Google Search is the main channel; keep ad groups tight around testing, consultation and treatment.
Clinical, neutral ad text
“Confidential STI testing with a doctor consultation” reads well and is more likely to pass review than slang or explicit terms. Mention privacy, doctor-led care and easy booking.
Location and hours in the ad
Location assets, call assets during staffed hours and a message or WhatsApp route outside them. Patients want to know the clinic is close and that they can book quietly.
Meta for awareness, not targeting
On Facebook and Instagram, general sexual health awareness and vaccination messages work better than direct testing offers. Target by age and location, not by interests that imply a condition.
Separate Arabic campaigns
Run Arabic keywords and ads in their own campaigns, including dermatology and venereology terms, so you can read results clearly and write native copy.

What is restricted or risky

Health-based remarketing
Google restricts personalised advertising based on health conditions. Don’t build audiences from STI pages or upload patient lists for targeting.
Implying the viewer’s condition
Meta’s policies generally don’t allow ad text that implies you know someone’s health status, such as “Worried about your test result?”. Speak about the service, not the person.
Explicit words and images
Explicit terms, suggestive photos and some sexual health keywords can lead to limited serving or disapproval. Keep creatives clinical and calm.
Claims and guarantees
Avoid phrases like “guaranteed accuracy” or “instant cure” and any comparison with other clinics. Healthcare advertising in Dubai is regulated by DHA; check the current guidelines.
“Anonymous” promises
Use the word only if your clinic truly offers anonymous testing and it fits current rules. “Confidential” is usually the accurate word.

Landing pages and tracking

One page per service
Separate landing pages for STI screening, symptom consultations and vaccination. Each states what happens, the sample types, when results arrive and how they are shared.
Privacy above the fold
Say who sees the result, how it is delivered and that booking is private. Add WhatsApp and a short form with minimal fields.
Neutral URLs and event names
Keep test names and conditions out of URLs, form fields and event names that reach ad platforms. Use an event such as “booking_request” rather than naming the test.
Meta data restrictions
Meta may limit the data its pixel accepts from health-related websites. Check Events Manager for restrictions on your domain and plan tracking around what is allowed.
Measure bookings, not clicks
Track WhatsApp clicks, form submissions and calls, then compare them with booked and attended visits in your clinic system, without sending health details back to the platforms.
Policy-first page builds
I built a Google-policy-compliant dermatology landing page for Manhal Medical Center, and the same discipline applies here: clinical wording, clear doctor details and no promises.

Launch checklist for sexual health ads

  1. 01

    Confirm what you can advertise

List the services, doctors and claims your licence covers. Check current DHA guidelines and Google and Meta policies before writing any ads.

  2. 02

    Build private landing pages

One page per service with privacy wording, minimal forms and WhatsApp. Have the medical team approve every clinical line.

  3. 03

    Set up neutral tracking

Configure GTM and GA4 with neutral event names and no health data in URLs or parameters. Test exactly what each platform receives.

  4. 04

    Structure Search campaigns

Separate English and Arabic campaigns, tight ad groups per service, location and schedule settings, and 18+ age targeting where available.

  5. 05

    Write and review ad text

Clinical, non-explicit copy focused on confidentiality and doctor-led care. Remove anything that implies the viewer’s condition.

  6. 06

Launch small and watch policy status

Start with a modest budget, watch for limited or disapproved ads and fix wording quickly.

  7. 07

Review weekly with the front desk

Match enquiries to booked visits, read search terms, add negative keywords and adjust schedules to when patients actually book.

Frequently asked questions

Do sexual health ads need 18+ targeting?

Usually yes. Sexual health ads generally need age targeting of 18+ and non-explicit wording. Set age exclusions where the platform supports them and keep creatives clinical.

Why are some of my ads showing as limited?

Some sexual health terms trigger restricted serving even when the ad is compliant. Rewrite in clinical language, read the policy note on the ad and review the landing page wording.

Can I use Performance Max for an STI clinic?

It is risky. You control less of where ads show and which audiences are used. Start with Search campaigns, where keywords, wording and placements are clear.

Should we show prices in ads?

Only if they are accurate, current and allowed under DHA guidelines. A clear starting price can help, but hidden extras damage trust in a specialty built on it.

Can we target expats by nationality?

Target by language and location rather than nationality, and write separate English and Arabic ads. Avoid any targeting that could look like profiling by health or personal traits.

How do we track conversions without exposing patient data?

Count neutral actions such as booking requests, WhatsApp clicks and calls. Keep test names and symptoms out of URLs, event names and form fields shared with ad platforms.
